• Who We Serve

STEMpowerment focuses on displaced communities in Lebanon, particularly Lebanese families affected by internal conflict, refugees from Syria and Palestine, and displaced youth and children. These groups face significant challenges in rebuilding their lives, particularly in accessing education and securing long-term opportunities. Our program seeks to address these challenges by providing educational support, with a focus on empowering participants through STEM knowledge and practical skills that can help them regain stability and pursue brighter futures.

  • What We Do

STEMpowerment offers a hands-on approach to learning, aiming to make STEM both accessible and impactful. Through interactive workshops, participants engage with topics such as robotics, coding, and sustainable technologies, learning how these fields can solve real-world problems. Beyond technical skills, we emphasize the importance of soft skills like teamwork, leadership, and communication. Our mentorship program connects youth with STEM professionals who provide guidance and inspire future career possibilities. Additionally, we engage participants in community-based projects, encouraging them to use their skills to develop practical solutions for the challenges their communities face.

  • Where We Work

Our program operates in public schools, community centers, and through remote learning platforms across Lebanon. In schools, we work with displaced students to complement their existing education and provide hands-on STEM learning experiences. In community centers, we offer workshops to families and individuals who may not have access to formal schooling. We also use digital tools to reach participants in remote or underserved areas, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their location, has access to STEM education and opportunities.

  • When We Started and Our Progress

STEMpowerment began as a pilot program in 2023, offering STEM workshops in a handful of public schools and community centers. The response was overwhelming, and by 2024, the initiative expanded to over 10 locations across Lebanon. Our workshops have grown, and we’ve added a mentorship component to further support participants. Looking ahead to 2025, we aim to engage over 1,000 participants, continuing to expand the program’s reach and impact. With each success, we’re one step closer to creating sustainable opportunities for displaced communities through the power of STEM.
